I’m Not a Marketing Guru, Darling — I’m a Connoisseur

March 16, 2026

Preview: Because strategy deserves taste, and execution needs a team.

This week, someone introduced me as a “marketing expert.”

Sweet, right?

But honestly, I winced—just a little.

Because the word “expert” has been worn out like a favorite pair of heels you refuse to throw away.

And “guru”? Don’t even get me started. That word makes me itch.
(Unless you’re in a linen robe, barefoot on a mountain, whispering wisdom to hummingbirds—you are not a guru.)

Here’s the real deal:
Marketing is massive. Multifaceted. Messy.
Nobody—nobody—can claim to be an expert in every part of it. And I don’t pretend to be.

What I am is a connoisseur.
Someone who’s tasted, tested, and dissected nearly every tactic, trend, and tool out there.
I know what works. I know what’s fluff. I know what looks good on a pitch deck but falls flat in real life.

Most importantly—I know how to lead the right team to bring strategy to life.

Because no, I don’t do it alone.
I come with a team. A dream team—experts who are the real deal in their craft.

  • Designers who don’t just make things pretty—they make them sell.
  • Copywriters who can turn a tagline into a mic drop.
  • Media buyers who understand numbers and nuance.
  • Developers who make magic behind the scenes.

I bring the taste, the vision, the “let’s make this actually work” energy.
And together, we build it.

So, am I a guru? No.
An expert? Depends on your definition.
But a connoisseur? Absolutely—and proud of it.

Because what matters most in this business isn’t knowing it all—it’s knowing who to call, when to pivot, and how to bring it all together beautifully.
